新年の目的 New Year Goals

So it's a new year again.
I look back over the past year and see that it has been one of the greatest years of my life yet. I've learned so much and had some wonderful experiences. It has been very difficult and trying lately, but I continue because I know I will be successful in the end. I have been to both extremes of life.. Feeling like I could do nothing to feeling like I can do anything.

I met the most wonderful girl ever too, and because of her it has forced me to face lots of problems with myself that I wasn't happy about and didn't realize. I've had to make decisions I was putting off that will drastically change my life for the better over the next few years. Finally I have a plan that I feel comfortable with. I can only hope that she will see me for who I am now instead of who I was.

Major Goals for 2010
Keep going and doing and having fun even though life is tough right now.
Continue learning Japanese. Learn all kanji needed for JLPT 二級
Take the JLPT Level 2 (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) and pass.
Possibly start my ALT company here.. I'm really excited about this one.
Travel to a few or all of these places, Hokkaido, Korea, China, Guam, Hawaii, Australia, Thailand.
Continue working out.. Get that 6 pack.. or at least a 4 pack. On my way on this one..

Well.. That's a pretty ambitious list, but it certainly isn't impossible.
Oh and I wanna get a car too.. I can go to the drift course too maybe..

Hmm.. Thought of one more.. 日本語ブログをつくる。Should be easy if I learn Japanese. :)

沖縄Okinawa

Ok Ive been here 2 days now. This is a beautiful interesting place, it feels strangely like home. Maybe because its a cross between Florida and Japan. Japan has become my new home and Florda is my home so maybe thats why this place seems so comfortable. There are lots more things from the USA here than back in Chiba. There are so many Americans here, its just crazy. Im surrounded by family and haven't heard much Japanese since Ive got here. They have so many foods that I thought Id never see in Japan, but American food doesnt taste as I remember it... Im already starting to miss Japanese food, as crazy as that sounds. When I got to Japan I was missing American food.. I think my tastes have changed.. I feel as I did when I went to Florda last.. Kinda sick from eating the food.

Anyhow this is also an adventure because this is a hosuefull of chaos so to speak. 5 kids takes nothing short of a maricle to manage and everyone always wants something. Ive never seen anything like this in my life. I think I want no more than 2 kids or kids that know I mean business.

I went on a hike today and saw a beautiful mountain and waterfall. Lots of fun. Pictures later.

Ok so I made it home to Funabashi. Okinawa was quite an experience. I really think it's a nice place.
I want to go back when it is summer and go diving. I hear that it has some of the best diving in the world. That sounds hard to pass up. I think I'm going to go just before my trip to Florida or maybe after... Depends on the weather. It was really like being in a mix of the Florida Keys with Japan. The population must be at least 25% Americans or more.. Some places I didn't see any Japanese... It was very strange. I kept feeling out of place not hearing any Japanese in Japan. Most shop staff spoke English to me, even though I was speaking Japanese. I'm guessing that Hawaii is something like this, although I don't know since I've never been to Hawaii.

It was also cool because I got to drive all around the island. I miss driving. I really want a car, but right now it wouldn't be a good choice to buy one. At least I can drive now though!

Okinawa a beautiful place that I can't wait to visit again and if you get the chance I recommend that you go! Just be sure to have a drivers license a good map and a rental car if you go.

View photos on Facebook.. *Maybe it works*

うんてん めんきょ Drivers License やった!

今日うんてん めんきょ Get!
I got my drivers license today!

It was actually easy. I guess I just wasn't keeping both hands on the wheel before and worrying too much about the turns. Maybe I just forgot how good I am at driving and was too worried before... I was like I'm gonna kick this test's ass today! The three point turn and parking on the test back home is just as hard as the S and L turn here.

Anyhow, I got my license just in time for Okinawa!
